I've long suspected that part of the appeal of videogames is that they at least deliver the levelling-up they promise, if you put in the required time, effort, in-game purchases, etc.
Real-life Grind culture falls hilariously short of this standard, offering long periods with no levelling-up at all - and often actual levelling-DOWN - in return for your hours spent involuntarily sharing sweat with strangers on trains in deep, hot tunnels in the earth and, when you emerge, trying to work out which emails you should follow up in order to advance, or preserve, your career. Because NO WAY can it be all of them. Just gimme a gun and I'll shoot my way to the top.

Do you take your ham out of the packet? Our packaging stays so we can tell the difference, but maybe I am doing it wrong!
